Empowering Workers for a Better Information, Consultation and Participation in Agriculture Sector
The European agriculture sector has faced significant challenges due to the impact of COVID-19 and changes in working arrangements. To address these issues, the AGRI – EW project aims to enhance participatory procedures in the agricultural sector and share best practices among social partners from different countries. The project’s main goal is to enable workers to participate in decision-making processes and adapt to the new challenges posed by COVID-19 through information, consultation, and participation mechanisms. Additionally, it seeks to promote the implementation of the European Green Deal and ensure the better application of EU law on employee participation in agriculture. The project is aligned with the European Commission’s action plan to support the full implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights and ensure inclusive recovery after the COVID-19 crisis in Europe. The initiative is carried out by a consortium of organizations, workers’ representatives, and employers from five EU Member States (Italy, Poland, Spain, Slovenia, Romania) and two candidate countries (North Macedonia, Serbia). The AGRI – EW project achieves its objectives by empowering workers, sharing transnational experiences, conducting workshops and training, research and analysis, developing an E-learning platform, and publishing guidelines in multiple languages.
